Meet the poets we launched in 2022!
MDLIVE is a storyteller, author & poet since age 6. MD is not only a member of WIW but he is also a member of faces of poetry, souls of poetry lounge, drip the mic poemanology, and drip the mic hotel.
He is a veteran of poetry and always seek to stretch his pen. MD is a native of Dallas, TX. He is a conscious writer who envelopes you into a world of hurt, pain, and the triumph through it all.

Eddye Youssef Aziz is a 25-year-old Lebanese poet and teacher from Batroun, the North of Lebanon. He's a proud member of Sidewalk Beirut & is the founder & host of his hometown’s collective, Sidewalk Batroun, since 2018.
Eddye has performed in various venues & manages creative writing workshops in local & international communities & in schools and universities. He believes that poetry is everywhere & focuses on making it accessible to the public, especially young people.

Elizabeth is a poet, artist & community volunteer living in Charlotte with her family & two nutty, destructive cats.
Originally from South Carolina, she began writing poems & stories in elementary school, continued through college winning Furman University's annual poetry award in 1990.
In 2020 Elizabeth left corporate America with zero regrets, rediscovering her love for words, paint, & the arts community. This book is 30+ years in the making and just the beginning!

Greg Michaels "The Urban Cowboy Poet" has been an indexer, editor, librarian, stand-up comedian, bridge player, assembly-line laborer & wedding singer, but never a cowpoke.
He's written comedy sketches, song parodies & humorous articles.His story-telling is a fun way to retell urban legends. His mission is to make the world a funnier place. He believes in the power of humor to ease tensions in the family, workplace & community & to prevent or mediate conflicts.
Greg lives in Cleveland, Ohio.
Hil writes poetry, flash fiction, love letters, tabletop character sheets & clumsy bootprints all over Middle Tennessee. They are nonbinary, geeky & in love with words, trees & chili chocolate.
Early writings are inspired by their struggles with speech, trauma & a life declared too taboo to share with anyone. Their spoken word performances include features at Poetry in the Brew, Time to Arrive, the Bloom Stage & collaborations benefiting LGBT+ youth writing programs.

Kimberly K.M.A. Anderson is a mixed race poet from South Africa. She found her voice through poetry & started the "Turning Pain into Power" movement.
She speaks of being a mixed race woman in South Africa & takes you on a journey of consciousness & thought. She's a co-founder of #Iampoetry_Africa, a foundation that helps poets master their craft & heal through poetry. Her love of history influences her writing & tells stories of the ones before us.

The Lantern Carrier is a creative writer & author born in Grenada, West Indies, now lives in London. He grew up writing poetry but switched to inspirational & meta-physical poetry when he took up the meditative life.
Lantern Carrier has won multiple slam competitions with performance pieces, as well as making the finals in the H&T National Final (Brighton).
Lantern Carrier brings Light through his work. His ability to weave words is unique, his focus being the uplifting, lofty and sublime.
Maureen Medina is the founder of "Leave in Peace" and a campaign strategist and organizer for "Slaughter Free NYC." She advocates for both human and non-human animals and asserts that all oppression is connected.
In alignment with the idea that none of us are free unless all of us are free, Maureen hopes to inspire the pursuit of collective liberation through her writing.

Patty Orozco began writing when all spoken words had failed her. Patty fell in love with poetry through the works of Edgar Allen Poe. Poet to poet, he became her reason why written words were necessary.
Her writing began in middle school & although there have been absent years in between without a writer's presence within her, Patty has rekindled her love for poetry once again.

S.Z. Putnam is a Hmong American writer from Wisconsin. Her works are composed from real life experiences.
S.Z. has loved writing her entire life. She consumed works of literature in her youth, then thrived while expressing herself through words while attending college.
After a mid-life trauma, she stopped writing & only recently resumed. She has found poetry is an insight to her mind and helps navigate her healing journey.
